Hamlin Lake Rod and Reel Trips
May and June are hands down the best months to target fish on Hamlin Lake. As the water begins to warm, panfish make their way to the shallows to spawn. During this time not only do the crappie, sunfish, bluegill and bass appear in abundant numbers, but their veracious appetite makes them susceptible to a simple bobber / worm presentation.
Looking for something a little bigger than a panfish? May and June are also a great time to target pike, walleye, and fresh water drum by trolling along Hamlin Lake’s many drop offs and weed beds. Not only do these fish put up a good fight, but deep fried pike and walleye are hard to beat!

Fish Spearing Charters
Ever wanted to spear a fish? Well, here is your opportunity! In recent years Hamlin Lake has experienced an explosion of non-game fish that provide targets of opportunity for those willing to venture out onto the lake after dark in search of adventure. Join us as we flip on the floodlights and jab fish in the shallows with a multi-tined spear (think Aquaman’s trident) all from the comforts of a well-equipped boat.
Our captain will guide you to some of the best spearing locations on the lake where you will be provided with an opportunity to harvest “rough fish” such as freshwater drum, bowfin, suckers, carp, bullhead, and gar. This is one adventure that you don’t want to miss!

Salmon Charter Fishing
Every August mature king salmon are drawn to the Ludington harbor as they begin their annual spawning run up the Pere Marquette River. These fish often stage for several weeks within a stone’s throw of the Ludington lighthouse or within the protected waters of Pere Marquette Lake as they await the right conditions to enter the river system. This all sets the stage for some of the most exciting near-shore fishing of the year as these feisty fish tend to tear out hundreds of feet of line as they refuse to come to the net easily
Due to the tight quarters of the Ludington harbor and the abundance of salmon, this fishery is ideal for smaller boats, which allow for maximum success and maneuverability with much less gear than larger vessels. The protected waters of the Ludington harbor and PM Lake are also ideal for those who want to experience the thrill of catching a salmon while minimizing the potential for seasickness.
Join us aboard our custom 18’ Lund Pro V as Captain Bryan uses his years of experience to hook you into a big king. Due to the size of our boat, we specialize in hosting smaller groups of fishermen in a much more affordable manner than many charters in town. Two fishermen are ideal, but we can accommodate up to four if necessary. Our goal is to provide a truly “hands on” experience as our clients play an active role in setting lines, hooking fish, and bringing them to the net. Both morning and evening trips are available.
